This week at Meadow…
Some very exciting updates on the Meadow to share with you…
Development is moving along quickly and things are getting real. Our next big milestone is our EVT sample AKA we’re gonna have a fully working Meadow soon!!!!
Hardware updates
Got our first debug board with a lot of real parts
This basically means we can test builds of our software on actual hardware, ensuring it all works with our specific processor and components.
Finished the first version of our firmware
Firmware is a work in progress (just like software) but our V1 is done so all of our apps can properly speak to our sensors, storage, and other hardware components.
We’re just weeks away from our first EVT samples (first functional unit)!!
Our last samples have all been mechanical, but we’re going to China again in December to finish building and collect our EVT samples. This means our actual board in our actual device’s body.

For those who don’t know, the first few thousand that purchase are getting a bunch of awesome accessories included in the package, and we’re being just as rigorous in the design of those as the design of our actual device :)
Software updates
Created our software’s first release package
V1s of the apps and system UI are fully done, so we’ve put it together in a release package. After a little tweaking and testing with our firmware, we should be able to load it onto a debug board and then the EVT samples in December!
Rebuilt our contacts system to fully sync with iCloud / Android
Previously, you were going to have to create a separate list of Meadow contacts. Now, after setup, your Meadow & smartphone’s contacts will be fully in sync without you having to touch a thing :) It’s also extra nice for privacy because your device talks to iCloud directly without our servers ever seeing a thing.
Continued testing a lot of our apps internally & polishing ahead of EVT units
Every week we’re going app by app and rigorously testing + redesigning to ensure that our first public beta testers have a really good experience to build off of. V1s of apps are never perfect, so we’re getting well ahead of it and improving our designs early.
