Welcome back to Meadow’s weekly newsletter, Contagious Presence! Your weekly dose of digital world observations - and all things Meadow.

THIS WEEK IN PRESENCE:

A friend called me this week - hurt, confused, and spiraling over what I call digital body language.

She’d gone on a date with someone she really connected with. Afterward, it was clear they’d see each other again. They texted for a while, until he just... stopped. No fight. No explanation. Just silence, except for him still watching her stories, posting his own.

He was on his phone. Just not responding to her.

Now, there are a million valid reasons someone might not reply: life happens, emotions are messy, people get scared. Maybe it means something. Maybe it means nothing.

But here’s what it does mean: our phones have become characters in our relationships. The unpredictable middlemen between how we feel and how we’re perceived.

They’ve reprogrammed our nervous systems - made us expect responses, and panic in their absence. Every ping, vibration, and glowing red dot activates your sympathetic nervous system, the part of your body designed for survival. It’s your internal alarm system, ready to protect you from danger. Heart rate spikes. Breath shortens. Muscles tighten. Adrenaline surges. All from a notification - or the lack of one.

That’s the irony. Whether it’s a buzz that startles you or a silence that stings, both pull your body into the same alert state. Your nervous system doesn’t know the difference between real threat and social uncertainty. But when you step away, when there’s no feed, no buzz, no “new”, your parasympathetic nervous system finally has space to take over. That’s your rest and digest mode. Your body’s calm counterbalance. It slows your heart, deepens your breath, and tells your system, you’re safe.

That’s where ease lives. Creativity. Connection. The feeling of presence that no amount of notifications can simulate.

That’s what Meadow is for: No alerts. No scroll. No phantom presence of people who aren’t really there. Just what you need and whats in front of you.

You want to connect? Call me. Hear my tone. Don’t decode my silence or read into my texting capitalization.

Meadow exists for the moments that deserve your full attention – the ones happening right in front of you. Don’t allow your phone to dictate the status of your relationships or connections. Run in a field and chase joy, not dings.

MEADOW PRODUCT UPDATE:

  • We kicked off our first EVT (Engineering Validation Test) sample — our first fully working prototype.

  • Our software ran on the Meadow screen for the very first time!

  • We’re finalizing packaging design and refining every detail.

  • Another round of accessory samples (headphones, charger, case, etc.) is in the works.

  • Flights are booked — we’re heading to China in December to receive the working samples and load the software irl.

FEATURE HIGHLIGHT: SAME PHONE #

  • Yes, it is really the same number as your smartphone!

    • This means no second sim card or extra carrier plans.

  • No, it won’t be like a green text – your friends wont know the difference!

  • Even if your smartphone is off, you’ll be able to make and receive calls using your main number on the Meadow.

That’s all for this week! 🌎

Thanks for reading and for being part of our growing Meadow community. We’re so excited to get this product into your hands — and inspired by the shared energy building across every corner of this movement. Remember… presence is currency: beautiful, desirable, and contagious.
